Crappy year so far for pets...

Well I've had a crap week. The fox got my drake on Wednesday which was the same day that an old friend of mine from school died. Long story...haven't seen her in years. She was into drugs heavily and owed me money that cost me the wedding I was going to have at the time, needless to say we drifted apart. Nonetheless I feel the loss...a tragic end to a tragic life. I feel especially bad for her family, her twelve year old son found her. I still don't know the full circumstances of her death but I'm guessing that it was lifestyle related. My sister rang me from the school where she teaches to let me know, my friends son is a student there.
We went through a lot together and were close friends for 15 years. It feels weird. I just hope she finds some peace now that she couldn't find in life.
Then yesterday the fox got my remaining four ducks. I feel bad for Lily, poor old granny duck to go that way and the babies only had five months of life. It seems such a waste to me...just one meal for a fox, just doesn't seem right somehow. Just after I discovered them gone, I saw the fox going along the fence line of the forest and the weirdest thing happened. A wedge-tailed eagle dove down and attacked the fox, I mean it dove right down into the forest and raked it with it's talons. The wierdest thing I've seen here yet. Also this is no ordinary fox. It looks exactly like a dingo and we've seen them around here before. Now for those of you who don't know, there are no dingos in the southern parts of Australia, they put up a dingo fence that runs nearly across the entire country to stop them from attacking the sheep and the dingo's left down here were killed I presume. Anyway this looks exactly like a blonde dingo. So maybe it's some dingo/fox hybrid because it makes the same noise that a fox makes and since dingo can't bark I'm presuming that that's what it is. It's the size of a shepherd not a fox.
So I now have no more ducks and I won't be getting anymore. The only way I would have any more poultry would be if I win the lottery and can put up a fox proof fence around the entire place which is nearly 3 acres so that's not likely to happen.
On a happier note my two new budgies have settled in nicely and are very funny to watch. They are real acrobats and I want to get them a new cage that has one of those roofs that open up into a play area.
Well that's all my news for now...I haven't been doing any art, just not that way inclined at the moment with everything that's happened. just totally uninspired. Maybe next month will be better!
Thankyou to everyone who takes a look at my art and a special thanks to those who fav. I hope everyone else is well and that all is going well for you. Love you all:hug:'s and lots of :blowkiss:'s to everyone.

It could be a dingo crossed with a domestic dog too! Dingo's are found all over Oz now not so much because of the failure of the fence but because of people treating them as though they're domestic animals.
Sorry to here about your babies! Its very sad & I agree it does seem somewhat unfair.
Good to here the budgies have settled in well! :D

:iconzlata-petal: has a photo of a dingo drinking from a stream in the Snowy Mountains so they're definitely found in southern NSW, norhern Vic in the wild! :D

I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?
